Animate Inanimates
An energizing and entertaining workshop for writers of any age. Designed to expand creative thinking and broaden the imagination. Animate Inanimates is completely adaptable -- as a teach-the-teacher in-service workshop or as a classroom exercise. In three steps inanimate objects spring to life and fresh approaches to writing emerge.
Six Trait Writing (Plus One)
The basics of Six Trait writing are reviewed and applied. Exercises are conducted in the traits that typically present the greatest challenges to young writers. This session is adapted to meet specific classroom needs.
Professor Tuesday's History Stories
Professor Tuesday, himself, can come to your school and share history lessons. Currently, the professor can discuss the Civilian Conservation Corps (1933-1942) and Chief Pontiac's Rebellion (1763).
This program shares the fun and excitement of history in a creative and innovative way. Plus, it encourages students to read more about the chosen topic.

Programs (Upper Grades)
Rock the Read, Roll to the Write
An examination of grammatical elements in pop music lyrics (NOTE: Lyrics are carefully chosen to avoid inappropriate content.) A variety of grammatical constructs are examined, such as metaphor, simile, onomatopoeia, alliteration, assimilation, etc. Additionally, lyric writing is reviewed and projects are assigned that demonstrate the application of meter and song structure.
Story Structure Development
This program shows graphically how stories are constructed. A variety of plot concepts are discussed. The program includes thoughts on narrative style, development of plot twists, and the application of surprise.
This program is an an adventure into the writing process that provides intellectual challenges for eager writers.
